What we do:
Drama Club meets weekly to discuss and work through needs and responsibilities of the Drama Department as well as social events to create community. All students/ Parents' Association involved will also work with Fundraising.
List of Executive Positions in Drama Club and Responsibilities:
PRESIDENT- Brandon Otero
I. Oversee the responsibilities of all drama club officers. The president is in charge of making sure officers fulfill their duties completely and efficiently.
II. Collaborate with volunteer parent to organize the drama club fund raisers throughout the year. The president must ensure all permission forms are collected from students before he /she is allowed to attend.
III. Oversee any event the drama club undertakes during the year. Whether it is a drama club or officer meeting, a play production, fundraisers, theatre banquet, et cetera, the president is required to attend and oversee all such events.
IV. Collaborate with the drama club Director and the drama club officers in order to plan and announce all drama club meetings in a timely manner. Ensure all meetings are enjoyable, informative, and well organized. Plan games and organize the information for the meetings.
V. Spokesperson to school and community for BNI Drama Club.
VI. Assist the drama club Director with whatever necessary. While the president is the head of the club, its co-advisors have the final say and are ultimately above all decisions made by the president.
VII. Plan officer elections for the following year.
VIII. Act as a liaison between student drama club members and Director.
IX. Represent Drama Club at school functions.
VICE-PRESIDENT- Josie Cordova
I. Assist the President in a variety of ways. Whether running an errand or being delegated to a large event, the Vice-President should stand by for any action that must be taken. The Vice-President must be active in asking the Presidents what needs to be accomplished.
II. Act in the position of the President. If the President is unable to attend a meeting or event, it is the sole responsibility of the Vice-President to seek out information from the president that should be discussed at a meeting.
III. Organize fund raisers (as needed) with volunteer parent(s) and Treasurer.
IV. Promote club membership with Publicity Director and Business Club.
V. Serve as activities coordinator.
SECRETARY- Abel Alejandro
I. Correspond with the Director to ensure parents are contacted and available to volunteer as needed, and provide resources for events and field trips.
II. Keep an organized file of contact information and records for all drama club members including meeting attendance, which will be sent weekly to Drama Club Director and other Executive Members.
III. Send out reminders to club members.
IV. Take minutes and keep an updated calendar at all meetings in order to better inform those who may be absent. Post and update Calendar on website.
V. Maintain alumni contact list/ Facebook Page.
VI. Take attendance at meetings. Co-ordinate with Stage Manager on rehearsal attendance.
VII. Publicize all meetings and gatherings one week prior to meeting to the main office.
TREASURER- Jalynn Edwards
I. Sign off and approve all purchase orders and deposits with Drama Club Director.
II. Organize collection of payment and take orders for all t-shirts/hoodies for productions.
III. Work with Vice President and parent volunteer on club fundraisers.
IV. Collect and record all activity/costume fees and script deposits. Return script deposits as scripts are returned.
V. Organize collection and take orders for all performance DVDs.
Publicity DIRECTOR-TBD
I. Design logos for Drama Club and production T-shirts, programs and advertisements.
II. Design layouts for various items such as calendars, brochures, postcards, invitations and award certificates.
III. Promote Drama Club – recruit new members, along with Vice President.
IV. Promote attendance and ticket sales for all Drama Club productions and events.
V. Write and distribute: press releases, event announcements. Will work with Publicity parent volunteer.
VI. Oversee Design & printing of show posters & programs with Drama Club Director
VII. Update displays, schedule morning announcements, place school newspaper articles & reviews
VIII. Consider more opportune ways in which we may notify the public about drama club events.
IX. Create and help distribute flyers to schools about upcoming events.
X. Work Concessions during shows, meaning: Selling tickets, food, and merch available to the public.
